Pogie: Have you ever noticed that leaning makes people look at you?
Me: People look at you a lot.
Pogie: That's because I bark a lot when I see them.
Me: Mm-hm.
Pogie:
Me:
Pogie: People bark at each other a lot, too.
Me: They do.
Pogie:
Me:
Pogie: I'm not sure why.
Me: You know why you bark, honey.
Pogie: Because I'm scared.
Me: Scared of what?
Pogie: That they'll hurt me.
Me: But you have your people who will love you and who will keep you safe.
Pogie: Sometimes it's hard to remember that.
Me: I know.
Pogie:
Me:
Pogie: The barking isn't the thing, is it?
Me: Nope. It's just a clue to what's going on inside.
Pogie: That I'm scared.
Me: Yep.
Pogie: So a lot of humans are scared, too.
Me: That's right.
Pogie: That's so sad.
Me: It can be. It can also just be a sign we're all telling each other that we. might need to love each other a little more.
