After mentioning him in a blog post, I was lucky enough to get a free copy of Paul Zak’s Immersion.

I might have done a little happy dance when the email from Zak came through because one of my big “maybe I should have” moments in life was not switching gears in the middle of college and going into cognitive psychology instead of political science. And this book was all about the brain and messaging. Zak is basically the king of this.

I know! I know! This doesn’t jive with the image people have of me. But I can’t tell you how much I love cognitive psychology and looking at how the brain works. It’s come in super handy with our youngest kid.

Anyway, I’ve been failing when I communicate because my posts aren’t terribly immersive.

I know! I know! Again. :) I’m a novelist who fails to be an immersive poster. So, I turned to Zak to see what I’ve been doing wrong.
