This week on my regular blog and Facebook, I shared BE BRAVE FRIDAY, and this week’s story focused on Spanx and me getting an award while inappropriately wearing Spanx, but I’ve tweaked it a bit and added some information that’s just here because I feel safer sharing things here. And because I wanted to share a couple of exercises, too.

In his MasterClass, Ru Paul encourages people to embrace their own fierceness. I’m not all that great at thinking of my inner self as fierce. I just tend to think of it as me. But then, he says,
And that? That resonated. One of the ways that helps me walk through the world despite all the hate and turmoil is remembering that we are all made of stars, but some of us have our stars dimmed or we’ve diminished our own.
However, I’m way too human and flawed sometimes and forget this about myself. This is what happened at the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce last week when I got the President’s Award. Be warned. It has to do with a trip to the bathroom and Spanx.
