L: Seriously?
Me: I don't have any photos today.
L: So, you're using this one? Of my paw?
Me: It's kind of funky.
L: There is dust stuck on my claws, dust bunnies ON MY CLAWS! The other cats are going to judge.
Me:
L:
Me:
L: You're going to say that I can't worry about the judgers, aren't you?
Me: Maybe.
L: That's sometimes hard.
Me: I know.
L:
Me: How about this? How about if I say that you can be the kind of cat that runs around, does things, helps, makes a difference, stands up for what you believe in, and occasionally get some dust stuck in your claws, or you can . . .
L: Not. Or you can not be that kind of cat?
Me: Pretty much.
L:
Me:
L: Are you going to end this with some sort of philosopher quote or something? Maybe cite Plato or Garfield?
Me: Not today. Today I'm just going to tell other cats to be more chill, to get up, to vote if they have a primary or an election, to be involved, to not stand aside when things happen, to take care of themselves and each other, to be vulnerable, to act, to speak, to do.
L:
Me: Oops. That was a lot, wasn't it?
L: Yep.

L, I see this as a busy paw that has been chasing the dust bunnies out from under the furniture so a human can clean them up. I also see a paw that needs a spa day. I will paraphrase my Maine grandmother's favorite quote, "Paws that pause are the devil's workshop." Yours have been busy, so you are good to go. Sending love your way.
