Koko: Human, it is time that you bestir yourself.
Me: You say this as a cat lounging on the bed . . . Actually, as a cat lounging on my bed.
Koko: I had to jump to get here. That was taxing.
Me:
Koko: It is a long way from the bed to the floor.
Me: So, you're saying that to get to the places you want to be, that you want your community to be, you have to work, to make leaps, to jump toward that?
Koko:
Me: You were more talking about me bestirring myself to buy some cat treats, weren't you?
Koko: Both. It can be both. Action is what you do. It is the everyday choices you make. It is the--Have I said enough yet to get a treat?
Me: You don't have to say anything at all to get a treat. You don't have to work to be loved. You are beautiful the way you are.
Koko: Despite the snarl by my ear?
Me: Maybe even because of it.
