Normally, I go to sleep instantly.
Not this week. This week, I’ve been staring at the ceiling or the screen and waiting . . . and waiting.
Shaun (my spouse) and I have some big life changes happening lately and we’re trying to build them all really quickly, and I am a pretty risk averse person. Plus, nobody seems to know where our kid, Xane, is going to school this fall because of everything that happened last spring. School starts here in two weeks, so I’m stressed.
When I’m stressed at night, my brain starts thinking about random things or else it’s yelling random things like, ‘Carrie! You will always be too chesty to wear a button down shirt, no matter what that French lady on YouTube says on her dress chic channel.
Last night, my brain was hyper-focused on why we humans want to be happy. How does that relate to evolution and the struggle to survive?
And it led me to the work of Paul Zak and also got me thinking about a Facebook post I had last week.
