Flowers in the Street
I am super lucky and often get to walk the Emster in partway to work.
And then on the way back I look at the flowers on the street and take a photo or two and send it to her and Shaun. I'm always so awe struck at how cool people are who plant flowers (and keep them alive) in front of their homes on our little street and how much people try to make beauty in the world around them.
This is super important because the ugliness feels so loud and so powerful (There has been a lot of ugliness in the comments to our paper's posts lately) and so overwhelming.
Try not to be overwhelmed, okay? And I'll try to.
I really love flowers, but I do not have the money to buy flowers all the time and I do not have a green thumb.
So taking photos with my phone as I walk back home is currently, sort of, the best I can do to get them flowers every day, to show them in a tiny way that I love them.
Today, I'm going to share yesterday's flowers with you. I love you too. And it's okay to be imperfect and ugly and loud sometimes. Just know that you are also loved.
