Cloud: People always say kindness is a choice.
Me: It is.
Cloud: Maybe it shouldn't be.
Me:
Cloud: Hear me out.
Me: Go for it.
Cloud: Maybe kindness should be a place you just exist in. Maybe it should surround you and permeate you so much that it isn't something you choose to do; it's something you are.
Me: Like it's the norm. Like breathing.
Cloud: Or sleeping.
Me: Someone will argue about this.
Cloud: And they will be making the choice to get a dopamine rush out of arguing instead of just inhabiting their kindness. I worry for them, human.
Me: Me too, Cloud. Me too.
