Cheering
Yesterday in our community there was a half marathon and also high school graduation.
These two cute humans were at the half marathon with these signs.
They didn't know anyone.
They were just there to cheer on people they didn't know. Specifically kids.
And that? That's kind of beautiful.
At graduation, there were seniors getting awards, crossing a stage, being celebrated for their accomplishments.
Same thing.
People were cheering on other people's kids. People were celebrating not what they could do, but what others were doing, what others had done, all the work it takes to get through school and all the work it takes to get through a race.
It is very hard to remember the moments of good in a world that has so many people focused on destroying other people.
But there are still bits of good, moments of good, lives devoted to good.
You can remember those too, notice them, be one of them.
