A little bit more about backstory and a couple of exercises/links
The last two podcasts and the last bonus post for paid subscribers has all been about writing backstory, which is super fun and cool, I think, and we’re going to round it out a little bit more today.
When you have backstory, it helps explain the characters’ tangible and physical goals (which we talked about on the podcast. It also allows us to understand who they are as a person or a gerbil or a manatee or whatever species your main character is.
